Performing Arts: Spoken Word Tongue & Groove feat. Gary Phillips

Social engagement is a theme among the storytellers at this month's installment of Tongue & Groove. Tonight, the series welcomes Gary Phillips, author of several acclaimed political crime thrillers; essayist and socio-political commentator Joshuah Bearman of the LA Weekly; and Dana Johnson, whose powerful short-story collection Break Any Woman Down explores themes of race and identity. Also on hand, as musical guest, is psychobilly siren Izzy Cox.
