It takes a talented band to spin hay into gold, but local sibling act the Chapin Sisters know how to cast the spell. Famous for transforming the Britney Spears hit "Toxic" into a more intoxicating folk rendition, the three actual sisters (daughters of folk legend Tom Chapin) have gained further notoriety for other bewitching covers — check out their version of Madonna's "Borderline" on MySpace. Their own tunes are just as captivating; their debut disc, Lake Bottom LP, boasts seamless three-part melodies and stellar songwriting. Tonight's show completes a month-long residency at the Echo.
