Like fellow Italian Surrealist Giorgio de Chirico, Angela DeCristofaro's paintings obscure reality with dreams and memories. Seemingly unrelated images find their way onto the same canvas, which, as explained by the artist herself, is a reflection of the disorder of contemporary society. A continuation of her 2006 collection Totality Shaped Out of Nothing, Wake exhibits the latest of DeCristofaro's eerily beautiful narratives.
