CALI feat. Darondo, Nino Moschella, Connie Price & the Keystones, and the Lions

Funk and soul get a crisp facelift at Crash Mansion with the return of '70s recluse Darondo. The Bay Area crooner recorded a handful of successful singles back in the day — even opening for James Brown — before abruptly disappearing into obscurity for more than 30 years; those records became lost classics, eventually finding their way onto the playlist of influential BBC DJ Gilles Peterson. All the revived noise forced Darondo back into the studio, and now, onto the stage. He's joined tonight by singer/songwriter Nino Moschella, a Bay Area young'un with enough deep drum 'n bass rhythms to hold his own.
