Art Las Vegas Diaspora: The Emergence of Contemporary Art from the Neon Homeland
-
- James Gobel, Ridicule Is Nothing to be Scared Of, Courtesy of Stephen Heighton and Kravets/Wehby Gallery
Dave Hickey has one of the most original minds in the contemporary art world. His best-selling collection of critical essays, Air Guitar, built bridges between rock music and fine art, and made Hickey a household name among West Coast impresarios. He also taught at the University of Nevada Las Vegas for years, and this dynamic survey exhibition presents the work of 26 of Hickey's former students who have since gone on to pursue international careers, including the Reverend Ethan Acres and Gajin Fujita.
Note: Dave Hickey gives a lecture on Sun Mar 9 (1pm).
