Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions continues its series of multimedia conversations with a compendium of artists and thinkers from the LA area. Organized by Josh Kun, tonight's installment takes Detroit as a prism through which to view race, urban politics, and Motown. RJ Smith — a senior editor at Los Angeles magazine, author, and historian, who is (among other things) working on a new James Brown biography — animates the discussion.
