Music: Rock/Pop The Black Keys w/ Jay Reatard

Initially, Gnarls Barkley producer Danger Mouse enlisted Akron blues-rock duo the Black Keys to write the music and lyrics for an album to be sung by Ike Turner. But after Turner's death last year at 76, the project became a Black Keys album, the Danger Mouse-produced Attack & Release. If the debut single, "Strange Times," is any indication, the Keys are still stuffing archetypal rock songs with Dan Auerbach's enormous, filthy guitar riffs and Patrick Carney's stripped-down drumming — albeit augmented by Danger's demented bells and whistles. Starting off the night is Memphis' lo-fi punk rocker Jay Reatard, who recently released the excellent Night of Broken Glass EP.
