Fresh off her tour with José González, Mia Doi Todd now plays the Echo with a set of ethereal, tuneful folk songs. Todd augments careful acoustic compositions with vaguely spiritual-sounding instruments like harmonium and hand-drum and a throaty, otherworldly voice. The multi-talented musician and artist has spread her singer-songwriting skills into the electronic realm in recent years, collaborating with Dntel, Prefuse 73, and Nobody — although her new record, Gea, is a strictly stripped-down affair.
