Art 100% Other: Artists and Psycho-Demographic Transitions

For the next installment of Future of Nations exhibition series 100% Other, curator Tyler Stallings asked artists Matthew Bryant, Cheryl Gilge, Perry Vasquez, Reggie Woolery, and Yasuko to set their sights on the themes of cultural identity and immigration. The show's title comes from LA Times' op-ed columnist Gregory Rodriguez, who proposed that everyone in the US check the "other" box for their race on the 2010 census. Each of the featured artists takes on the power and confusion that comes with such cultural labeling.
