This year's AFI Music Doc series kicks off with a sneak peek at Scott Hicks' inventive, intimate film Glass: A Portrait of Philip in 12 Parts. The Shine (1996) director's documentary traces the legendary composer's activities over the course of an especially busy year. The rest of the series includes a doc about a lively senior-citizens' choir, a screening of the cult-fave Beatles film Help!, and a preview of the forthcoming untitled Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary, which chronicles the band's work with music-video directors as they conceive, nurture, and birth a vision.
