Music: Electronic CEAIT Festival feat. Jason Kahn and the Hub

CalArts Center for Experiments in Art, Information, and Technology, known for its support of rule-bending and border-crossing innovations in electronic music, brings a typically fresh lineup to this year's festival. Friday night gets started with Jason Kahn, accompanied by Olivia Block, Ulrich Krieger, and Mark Trayle. Kahn's meshing of electronic dubs with acoustic melodies gives his progressively layered sound a surprising psychological depth. The fest winds down on Saturday with Bay Area collective the Hub, consisting of John Bischoff, Chris Brown, Scot Gresham-Lancaster, Tim Perkis, Phil Stone, and Mark Trayle, plus their trademark custom-built interactive network of hardware and software.
