Bette and Barbra, move over — Asha Bhosle has the market cornered on divahood. Armed with a formidable set of pipes and saris more sparkly than Shakira's bustier collection, Bhosle is far more than India's most famous playback singer; she got her start as the voice behind the lip-syncing actresses in '50s and '60s Bollywood flicks, but has since become a recognizable icon in her own right. She's been sampled by the Black Eyed Peas, immortalized in Cornershop's 1997 indie hit "Brimful of Asha," and linked to lefty artists like Michael Stipe and Kronos Quartet. As she trills and flirts from the Disney Hall's grand stage tonight, you'll hardly realize you've been seduced by a septuagenarian.
