Love is a battlefield in Sebastian Cordoba's documentary Through Thick and Thin, an exposé of gays and lesbians under homeland fire. Under current laws, thousands of Americans and their long-term partners could lose their homes, jobs, and each other as long as only legally married couples can apply for immigration rights. The film follows seven bi-national gay and lesbian couples with uncertain futures while supporting the Uniting American Families Act — a bill that would replace the word "spouse" with "permanent partner."
