Music: Rock/Pop Build an Ark feat. Dwight Trible

Those swaying, pulsing Afro-jazzers known as Build an Ark are one of the most honest-to-goodness glorious bands in LA. Their live shows can cram up to a dozen musicians (veterans and newbies) onstage, playing everything from trombones and flutes to fiddles. The collective formed as a post-9/11 peace project, and appropriately, the songs on last year's DAWN record stress anti-conflict themes of love and healing. Build an Ark are aided tonight by jazz vocalist Dwight Trible, whose impassioned tenor has been heard on records by the Pharoah Sanders Quartet and the Horace Tapscott Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra.
