No doubt David Trulli's former career as a cinematographer had an impact on his current work, as his scratchboard pieces exhibit a decidedly film-noir aesthetic. The scratchboard is a thin board of white clay coated with black ink; Trulli scratches away the black, illuminating his moody narratives with the dim glow beneath. While Trulli's exhibition occupies Robert Berman's D5 space, the C2 Gallery simultaneously shows Moods for Moderns, a group show curated by Paper Moon Graphics creator Brad Benedict, featuring work by Anthony Ausgang, Lou Brooks, and Judy Ragagli.
