Music: Rock/Pop Chris Rael's Rebellion Cabaret w/ Dudley Saunders, Patria Jacobs, and Mr. Smolin

Joni Mitchell once confided that the greatest musical compliment she'd ever received was that her songs evoked cinema — musical moving pictures. Fellow musician Dudley Saunders is another whose art travels through filmic territory; the storyteller's songs have have been labeled as rock, punk, and folk, though Saunders prefers to umbrella his music under one simple category: outsider. The renaissance man arrives at Echo Curio tonight in support of last year's critically acclaimed, self-produced album, The Emergency Lane, performing MySpace favorites and tracks from the album Elliott Smith never made, The Billy White Acre Sessions.
