Art DREAM(land)

The globally diverse artists in JAIL's latest endeavor have one thing in common: their work ignores the ugly cable-news cycle of reality in favor of escapist fantasy. Curator Annie Wharton, an internationally exhibiting painter herself, chose the 13 contributors for their collective tendency to glorify the imaginary, a desirable trait at a time when real life is an increasingly depressing subject. DREAM(land) features drawings and a collaborative video by South Korean Jiae Hwang, an installation by Wales' Neal Rock, and sculpture from California's own Joshua Levine.
