Film The Man Who Laughs (1928) feat. Ariel Pink w/ Plastic Crimewave and Jimi Hey

The wonderfully weird Cinefamily organization has enlisted a handful of talented local musicians, including Ariel Pink, to perform the live accompaniment to tonight's screening of early-cinema classics. The Man Who Laughs is a dark, German-expressionist tale about a 17th-century British aristocrat whose face is disfigured into a permanent, menacing grin by gypsies. The film is followed by the beloved French short A Trip to the Moon. Pink, whose spacey, lo-fi jams have earned him a devout following, tackles the live score alongside Plastic Crimewave (aka Steve Krakow) and Jimi Hey (formerly of Beachwood Sparks).
