Amiable Echo Park-based duo Hearts of Palm UK (no, they're not from the UK, so quit asking) hit the Silverlake Lounge this evening with Cyndi Lauper-meets-Postal Service punk-folk. Also taking the stage are local weirdos Jon Ruf and Mr. the Teeth, who sound like Thom Yorke and Adam Sandler if they'd formed a band on a dare. On the early side, Fiction Company bust out twitchy beats and David Byrne-like hijinks, while eclectic DJ tricksters Shenanigans Posse spin throughout the evening.
