The Cultural Affairs Department recently issued a statement to declare its unprecedented satisfaction with the state's arts budget — proof that our programs are hale and hearty even in the current economic climate. Following suit, this year's COLA individual-artist grants program includes Judie Bamber, Timothy Nolan, and Stas Orlovski, all of whom show off the city's eclectic, broad-mindedness. Pieces run the gamut from crisp abstraction and post-illustration narratives to art-historical iconography.
