The Smithereens were 1980s college-rock sensations that have successfully held onto their loyal cult following in the ensuing years. They even just released a Beatles tribute album (Meet the Smithereens) and a Christmas album (Christmas with the Smithereens). Hit songs like "Only a Memory" and "A Girl Like You" helped the band cross over to more mainstream success. On the heels of their upcoming live/greatest-hits album, the Smithereens bring their swaggering, Anglophilic pop to the Hollywood Park race track's summer concert series.
