Fresh off the Def Jux release of his tech-rap album Maths + English, UK grime mastermind Dizzee Rascal brings his introspective rhymes and tricky electro beats back across the pond. Weaving together Southern trap (UGK makes an appearance on the record) with old-school samples, Dizzee continues to bring a distinctive sound to hip-hop. Def Jux label founder El-P, meanwhile, headlines the evening with an apocalyptic edge of heavy, often avant-garde beats under hyper-literate wordplay.
