West Side staple Funky in the Middle bids farewell to its longtime home at Venice's A/C Club with a return visit from Brooklyn outfit the Pimps of Joytime (Wonderwheel) and LA-based crate-digger Mark Rae (Yes King). Resident DJs Wiseacre and Mr. Caparro are busy spreading the love at some other summer hot spots — including the Custom Hotel this weekend at Saturday's Wet Pool party and at their weekly Sundaze party — so tonight's all about the Pimps and Rae. Not to mention the teary-eyed fans elbowing their way to the decks.
