The life and experiences of Spanish painter Juan Uslé meet his vision of abstraction in this new series of paintings. Including over a dozen canvases — most of which are of equal size and alignment — the exhibition is a meditation on individuality and variety within a structural unity. Each painting comes to life with the vibrancy of hand-mixed pigments and the dichotomy between the landscapes of Uslé's native northern Spain and his part-time residence in Manhattan. Without labeling the show as seasonal, it's fair to say that the debut of Uslé's leaping colors and gossamer-thin paint layers is perfectly timed.
