Photographer Philip-Lorca diCorcia's meticulously planned pictures look as effortless as Polaroids. Most of his works feature a single person — who diCorcia usually finds through casting on the street — strangely lit in intimate private spaces or in urban settings like Tokyo, Hollywood, Calcutta, and New York. Over the last 30-odd years, diCorcia has worked his way into the highest echelon of internationally renowned photographers, with solo shows at major art institutions across the globe. LACMA hosts work from the artist's many notable series, including Hustlers, Streetwork, Heads, and Lucky 13.
