Leave the city's hustle and bustle behind and head for the hills (or, better yet, the canyon) for the 35th Annual Topanga Days Festival. Blending an old-school county fair with some big-city flavor, the three-day hootenanny features music, performance, organic food, and award-winning contemporary crafts. Two stages host foot-stomping sets from Chevy Metal (with Foo Fighter Taylor Hawkins), Johnathan Rice, Merle Jagger, and Psychedelic Cowboys. And this particular nature valley is close enough that you can take in the whole festival without lugging along a sleeping bag.
