Over the almost 15 years that hip-hop pioneers the Roots have churned out albums, their gloriously afro'd drummer, ?uestlove, has kept time while managing to carve out a career as an in-demand producer and DJ. As the Philadelphia-based group celebrates the release of its critically acclaimed 10th album, Rising Down, ?uestlove — previously Ahmir Khalib Thompson — stops off at the Roxy to spin everything from soul and R&B to underground hip-hop. He promises several "special guests" at the event, which is also a release party for the perennially popular hip-hop/DJ magazine, URB.
