Performing Arts: Theatre Norman's Ark

After directing Broadway's mega-musical The Lion King, Tony Award-winner Peter Schneider moved in a surprising direction: he traded in big-budget spectacle and the Great White Way for a musical production near and dear to his heart. With a cast of more than 200 mostly non-professional actors, Norman's Ark tells the story of a mother, a father, and three kids who are stranded on a roof during a bout of wild weather. The modern telling of Noah's Ark also features a 75-member gospel choir and 115 elementary-school students from all across LA as the ark's various adorable animals.
