Since 1999, artistic coalition and electro outfit Nortec Collective have paid homage to their Baja-border origin by bridging the gap between future-looking digital music and traditional Mexican folk. Tonight, DJs Bostich and Fussible rep for the usually five-strong crew, destroying the stage with a mash of old-country visuals, heavy techno beats, and laptop-produced chaos. With a dizzying arsenal of synthetic horns, accordions, and distorted vocals, the pair plans to smash the Echo like a piñata filled with mescal-soaked candy necklaces.
