As urban-lesbian legend has it, Uh Huh Her's main girls Leisha Hailey (The Murmurs, The L Word) and Camila Grey (Mellowdrone) first hooked up in a holding tank at a Los Angeles jail. Now out of the slammer, the pair (named in homage to a PJ Harvey disc) teamed up at producer Al Clay's studio for its first album, Common Reaction — a slick, sexy affair that sounds like the Cocteau Twins on stage with the Go-Go's. Uh Huh Her make music that's playful, unabashedly accessible, and, if their first single, "Say So," is any indication, destined for the dance floor.
