James Pants' senior prom truly was a night to remember. At an afterparty, he met Stones Throw head Peanut Butter Wolf for the first time. Now, six years later, he's less than a month away from releasing his debut album on PBW's label. Pants' music delivers a fresh viewpoint on new wave, post-punk, and soul; playing multiple instruments and singing like a cross between Tom Vek and James Murphy, he creates a complex sound, but makes it fun. Tonight, he's behind the decks — and if his mixtapes are any indication, expect an eclectic mix, from hip-hop to '60s psych and disco.
