This weekend's Photoplay events present sophisticated, compelling, and inspiring original works created by young students in the Virginia Avenue Project's interdisciplinary creative program. The project's writing, art, photography, and movement workshops combine long-term after-school and summer courses with the periodic publishing, exhibition, and performance of the students' collaborative efforts. Helping to set the stage for the avant-garde of tomorrow, the Getty Villa gives educators, activists, artists (such as current teacher Myra Vides), and esteemed alumni further reason to be proud of their work and their students.
