Santa Monica Auctions may seem like the shorts-and-flip-flops version of Christie's, but it's just the atmosphere that's laid back. The items up for bidding are top-shelf, including 1950s works by Ed Moses, and Shepard Fairey's hard-to-find Barack Obama poster. Also look for Keith Haring's Warhol-wigged Mickey Mouse and Andy's own Chairman Mao, plus rare offerings from Marc Chagall, Ed Ruscha, and Kiki Smith. Don't blow your whole art budget in one place, though, as another auction happens just outside: the Art for CLARE benefit, in the Bergamot Station lot at 2pm.
