The Helio Sequence's Brandon Summers may appreciate his new calm and collected singing style more than anyone else. After destroying his vocal cords during 2004 tours with Modest Mouse, Blonde Redhead, and Kings of Leon, Summers was faced with the prospect of never being able to sing again. He changed his methods, resting his voice and diligently practicing self-taught vocal exercises, and now the band is ready for a grand return to form. All the work that went into Summers' comeback is easily overlooked in the face of the Helio Sequence's intricate, seemingly effortless instrumental harmonies, but tonight's show gives you the chance to pay closer attention.
