Recent Spanish Cinema XIV

Although Pedro Almodovar's work tends to hog the spotlight, more and more Spanish films continue to reach crossover status. This year's ongoing Recent Spanish Cinema series at the Egyptian Theater promises a group of Goya Award-winning filmmakers, actors, and cinematographers. The ten-day event opens with this year's Best Picture, Best Director, and Best New Actor winner, Solitary Fragments (La Soledad), a drama about two women affected by the Madrid terrorist bombings. Sonia Almarcha, one of the film's stars, appears after the screening for a Q&A.
