Quetzal are both the standard-bearers of progressive Chicano music and dynamic community activists. Steeped in the history of grassroots Latino culture, the band's olio of rock en Español, Afro-Cuban percussive rhythms, jazz, and R&B suits their core belief in the world-changing power of art. In addition to tonight's west-side appearance, members of Quetzal play tomorrow in Chinatown as part of the LA Murals panel discussion at Morono Kiang Gallery, leveraging their creative verve to help their city's public-art diversity.
