Not everyone agrees that punk is dead. Since catching the eye of ex-Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek back in the late-'70s, notoriously underrated punk band X have channeled the brass-knuckle spirit of the Clash and Sex Pistols, meshing raw, hard-rock with splashes of country and folk in a distinctly Cali aesthetic. In honor of the 31st year in their on-again, off-again career, LA natives and founding members John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom, and D.J. Bonebrake reunite for the 13 X 31 Anniversary Tour. Expect an energetic performance that recalls the early days of Los Angeles punk, with expertly crafted lyrics that obliterate any sign of aging.
