BANG! Fully Loaded sits at the intersection of the group art show, the modern penchant for excavating problematic historical/cultural symbols, and urban culture's taste for the multimedia spectacle. For the show, an eclectic group of local artists — whose media range from illustration to fashion design, and from painting and photography to custom-car design — was invited to reinterpret the Filipino Barrelman totem, a bawdy, phallocentric tribal image that is both beloved and reviled for its politically incorrect bombast.
