The Art Directors Guild IA Local 800 is a deliriously talented group of production designers, art directors, and scenic, title, and graphic artists — all of whom are responsible for the aesthetic worlds created in union-sponsored movies, television shows, and commercials. These 1,600 artists partner up with Silverlake's own Ghettogloss Gallery to showcase an exhibition of their small-scale work — some of which was created for blockbuster films. To add an extra layer of ambiance at the reception, Ghettogloss organizes the event as a campfire cookout, bedecked with picnic tables and "bug juice" cocktails, served on an AstroTurf lawn.
