Clive Barker is a successful author, director, screenwriter, playwright, and poet; Myron Dyal is a classical musician. But both artists also maintain an interest in visual art, creating dark paintings, drawings, and sculptures that imagine the landscapes and creatures of the underworld and beyond. Barker's illustrations and paintings have become an increasingly vital part of his writing process (the characters he's created inspired his book Abarat), while Dyal's drawings, paintings, and life-sized papier-mâché sculptures often incorporate hallucinations from his epileptic seizures, brought on at a young age by a three-month-long coma.
