Recently re-signed to Nonesuch Records (David Byrne, Jon Brion), Sam Phillips returns with 12 coy tales of love lost and found, delivered in her charming, smoky voice with a side of Cheshire Cat sarcasm. Don't Do Anything's early-June release is followed by a short tour and a homecoming show in the new Largo at the Coronet Theater. Yes, Largo has waved goodbye to Fairfax Village, where it's been for almost 20 years. The new digs are bigger and swankier — but lacking in food. Local stringed squires the Section Quartet warm up the masses with tunes from their Linda Perry- and Jon Brion-produced debut record.
