Music: Rock/Pop Flula Borg

"Techno meets ambient" is a straightforward description of Flula Borg. But that's before you get to the vocals that weave through surreal, tongue-in-cheek narratives about hiding clouds and NBA star Dirk Nowitzki. These comedic elements seem like an anachronistic addition, but the results are actually pretty funny. He also mixes in "real" sounds, à la master sampler Matthew Herbert, to amusing effect. These concoctions can be puzzling, but always engaging, so head east to the Silverlake Lounge to hear some of the latest creations from Borg and sometimes-collaborator (and cousin) Jürgen Horst.
