New York's loss is Los Angeles' gain with the arrival of Stephan Koplowitz, one of the country's most intriguing interdisciplinary artists. Koplowitz recently founded TaskForce, a touring but site-specific company, to confront the intersection of natural, social, and cultural ecologies in urban environments. Compelling for fans of dance as well as site-responsive multimedia work, Liquid Landscapes explores LA's complex relationship to water by dunking TaskForce members into performances at some of LA's most unique and storied locales: the original Farmer's Market, the port of Los Angeles, Farmlab, and LA's newest breeding ground for dance, the Open Space.
