LA's most industry-beloved photo lab, Photo Impact, officially closed when its owner went in with A&I, but the group show LA Nude X at A&I's renovated Hollywood HQ, continues an annual tradition Photo Impact started and marks the merging of the current lab du jour with Photo Impact's storied legacy and celebrating the primal, ubiquitous appeal of the artistic nude. With artists like Greg Gorman, Dennis Hopper, Myra Vides and Douglas Kirkland among the partipants, the opening reception promises to be a raucous time both on and off the walls — and it's all for a good cause. Sales benefit the Aftermath Project's international documentary program, which chronicles the reconstruction of war- and weather-torn regions around the world.
