Art No Room

Architects and international-design darlings Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee are known for innovative materials and forms. Visually and conceptually promiscuous, Christopher Grimes Gallery has invited the pair to curate its summer group show, No Room, which features photography, painting, sculpture, and installation. Highlights include deadpan, politically charged documentary photos of Allan Sekula; and the joyful multimedia messes of Katharina Grosse (paired, in many cases, with iconic furniture by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and others) that illustrate architecture's potential both for monumentality and intimacy.
