The 18th Street Art Center continues its tradition of presenting politically and socially engaged visual art with its four-part exhibition series Future of Nations, an interdisciplinary examination of the hot-button issues of the day. Citizen Artists Making Emphatic Arguments is the third in the series, and addresses environmental and energy policies. Activist art group Fallen Fruit's project maps the distribution of public fruit-bearing trees; documentary photographer Kim Stringfellow displays her taste for the surreal beauty of man-made disasters; and the center's resident Fellows Los Animistas build an installation featuring taxidermy and science-lab materials. – Shana Nys Dambrot
