- Grab your best amis for a jolie good time at Los Angeles' seventh-annual Bastille Day Festival. Unlike the events of 1789 that touched off the French Revolution, there (probably) won't be an unruly mob of peasants looking to overthrow the monarchy. Instead, expect crowds of French-fried Angelenos enjoying fine wines, gastronomic delights, Polynesian dancers, competitive pétanque, the popular Parisian waiters' race, and, of course, la musique. A full day of French-leaning modern and classic tunes includes DJs and live sets from Jessica Fichot, Adele Jacques, and a cadre of eclectic Francophile performers.
