LA-based band Jail Weddings take the '60s soul revival sound to a whole 'nother level — a darker, much more dangerous-sounding level. Lead singer/guitarist/songwriter Gabriel Hart has amassed an altogether saucy-sounding 10-piece band featuring violin, sax, and a bevy of lovely, besequined backing singers. His Costello-meets-Orbison voice quivers through songs that seamlessly blend the sounds of teen doo-wop and lurching swamp punk. Jail Weddings continue their July residency at the Echo alongside acclaimed songwriter Moris Tepper, known for his work with legends like Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits, and Frank Black.
