Music: Punk/Metal The Melvins

Sludge-metal pioneers and left-coast heroes the Melvins have released more than 25 albums in about as many years. This evening, the band celebrates its latest, Nude with Boots, with an in-store performance at Hollywood outpost Amoeba Records. The new LP is the second in the Melvins' current incarnation, which features founder King Buzzo and long-time drummer Dale Crover alongside the rhythm section from like-minded metalheads Big Business. Expect healthy portions of the propulsive — and uncannily tuneful — new material, along with a dose of psychedelic noise from decades past.
