Eric Burdon wasn't the first to lament it, but thanks to his chart-topping wail, everyone knows about the infamous house in New Orleans called the Rising Sun. Join the Animals, Jack Bruce of Cream, the Turtles, and other '60s staples in observance of Hippiefest 2008 — a far superior substitute for the cheesy Time Life collection. Even after they have been thrown into CD box sets and used in TV commercials, these songs represent some of the most enduring, culture-defining tunes of the era. Admittedly, there was, and always will be, one true Woodstock, but tonight will make you wish you were there. Again.
